Brief and pics from MUSON Jazz Night 2015

The annual MUSON Festival is a major event that focuses on celebrating excellence in the Arts. It aims at bringing various people together to enjoy various genres of music. The
celebration was kicked off with a personality programme 'my kind of music'. This event hosted exceptional personalities like South African Ambassador M. Monaisa, Sir Obinna Anaba, Ms Rolake Akinkugbe and Mrs. Edna Soyannwo who thrilled the audience to their favourite selection of music. Other events of the Festival are the Youth Concert, the MUSON Day, Choral Concert, Jazz Night, Drama and School Recital.
The Jazz Night is one exceptional Festival event that attracts members, tourists, friends and the media.
Usually, popular Jazz artistes are the main attraction for the night but the 2015 concert saw a change as only students and members of the alumni were the attraction for the day. It featured the Girls Rule Band, an all female band that was inspired by the director of the School of Music, Mrs. Marion Akpata. Also on the line up was the Jazz Messengers, a band of 4 students Samson Ita, Tombrapade Robert, Raphael Lasisi, Etuk Ubong and 2 Alumnus (Timothy Ogunbiyi and DebbieSoul) and directed by Philip Uzo. Philip Uzo, a virtuoso guitarist, composer and music director was a main act and he lived up to expectation. NNB, a band that includes a member of the Alumni, Michael Oloyede also thrilled the audience to a memorable evening. More pictures below.
